stopped my class today
in the reeds of a refuge
hundreds of years old

you take off and fly
chaotic origami
gather energy

yellow river sky
to the trees; magnificent
due to gratitude

thirty little squares
I feel their anxiety
be in quiet awe

a simplicity
to sit and watch little swifts
winter chandeliers

swimming in a sea
you yell and fight over it
trailing a mother

I long for rivers
precious tokens, and small hints
I have passed this past

happiness is now
together, watching the birds
cradled by the Earth

I keep company
upon a forest by sea
wrapping around beams

sine waves in the clouds
the negative space becomes
all that is above
